Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hiwara- Gondia organised 15th  Farmer-Scientist Forum Meeting at Bahekar Agro Farm and Rehabilitation Center, Risama, Amgaon on 25 June 2024. Subject of the meeting were Good Agricultural Practices in Paddy and Fishery.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In program,  Mr. Mahendra Thakur, Chairman, Farmer Scientist Forum, Mr. Sashank Sahare, Assistant Fishery Development Officer, Gondia, Mr. Vijay Bahekar, Secretary, Shri Ganesh Rural Educational Society, Gondia, Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Hort), Mr. R.D. Chavhan, SMS (Entomology) and Mr. G. R. Khedikar, PA (Laboratory) were present.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. G. R. Khedikar, PA (Laboratory) gave information on seed treatment, soil sampling and cultivation practices in paddy. Mr. R.D. Chavhan, SMS (Entomology) briefed about insect pest and diseases of paddy crop at different stages and their control. Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Horticulture) discussed about IFS model  in detail .<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Sashank Sahare, Assistant Fishery Development Officer, Gondia gave details on status of fish production and development in district. He mentioned different types of fish which are suitable for area and how it’s cultivation is done. He also briefed about various schemes run by the department.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Vijay Bahekar, Secretary, Shri Ganesh Rural Educational Society, Gondia discussed about IFS model as his developed in his farm. He also appreciated the work done by KVK Gondia and all staff of KVK.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Mahendra Thakur, Chairman, Farmer- Scientist Forum shared his experience with farmes on various topics like cultivation practices of different crops, export of farm produce and marketing of farm produce etc. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Farmers also gave their feedback on this programme. All queries raised by farmers were solved by the guests. After technical sessions, a field visit to IFS model was organised. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Anchoring and vote of thanks was given by Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Horticulture). In all, 24 farmers, members of Farmer-Scientist Forum, Entrepreneurs, FPO members and officers were present to made programme successful.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
