A Shivar Pheri programme was organized at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (Dr. PDKV), Akola on 20 September 2026. Farmers from Gondia district participated in the programme along with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Gondia.The programme provided an opportunity to farmers to visit various agricultural demonstration units established at the university and gain practical knowledge about improved crop production technologies, agricultural practices and other technologies suitable for enhancing farm productivity.
The Shivar Pheri programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Dattatray Bharane, Minister of Agriculture, Government of Maharashtra, in the presence of Dr. Sharad Gadakh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. PDKV, Akola, and other university officials, scientists and agricultural stakeholders.
During the inaugural programme, the importance of adopting improved agricultural technologies, scientific crop management practices and innovations developed by agricultural universities was emphasized for improving farm productivity and farmers’ income.
Farmers from Gondia district participated in the Shivar Pheri under the guidance of KVK, Gondia. The farmers actively participated in the field visits and interacted with scientists and technical experts of Dr. PDKV, Akola.
During the Shivar Pheri, the participating farmers visited various crop demonstration units and technology demonstration plots established at Dr. PDKV, Akola.
