Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gondia, under Dr.PDKV Akola, organized “Pre-Kharif Kisan Mela” under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) of ICAR-ATARI, Pune at Model Village, Kidangipar, Tal. & Dist. Gondia on 16th June 2023.
Firstly, A Village Level Agricultural Technology Information Centre was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Hon. Dr. Sharad Gadakh Vice Chancellor Dr PDKV Akola, Hon. Mr. Anil Patil Chief Executive Officer Zilla Parishad Gondia, Dr Dhanraj Undirwade DEE Dr.PDKV Akola and other dignitaries.
After this, “Pre Kharif Kisan Mela” program was inaugurated and Chaired by Honb’le Dr. Sharad Gadakh, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, in the presence of Mr. Anil Patil, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zilla Parishad, Gondia, Dr. Dhanraj Undirwade, Director of Extension Education, Dr. PDKV, Akola, Dr. Syed Shakir Ali, Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gondia, Mr. Avinash Lad, DDM, NABARD, Gondia, Mr. Sanjay Sangekar, District Coordinator, MAVIM, Gondia, Mr. Ajit Adsule, Project Director, ATMA, Gondia, Dr. Kantilal Patle, District AHDS Officer, Gondia, Mr. Suresh Kanhake, DDA, Gondia, Mr.Sahare from Deputy Commissioner of Fisheries, Mr R T Pawar, TAO, Gondia Mr Mahendra Thakur, Chairman, Farmer Scientist Forum, Smt. Vidyakalatai Patle, Panchayat Samati Member, Gondia, Smt. Latatai Uikey, Satpancha, Gram Panchayat, Kidangipar, Smt. Fanishatai Sarate, Police Patil, Kidangipar, Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Horticulture), Mr Vishal Ubarhande SMS(Agril. Engg), Mr Manoj Bhomte SMS(Agro), Dr. Kalyani Sarap SMS (AHDS) and other dignitaries.
IDr. Syed Shakir Ali Senior Scientist and HeadKVK, Gondia, gave ntroductory remarks about the Program and highlighted the concept of Model Village. A total of 11 villages have been selected from 11 districts of Vidarbha region under Dr.PDKV, Akola, and village Kidangipar from Gondia district is one. PRA (Participatry Rural Aprisal) was done during the month of November 2023. After the survey needs of farmers and thrust areas were identified, and on the basis of thrust area, different activities were undertaken and have been carried out in the coming Kharif season. He also mentioned that how convergence with all line departments, private companies, NGO’s etc can help to make Kidangipar a Model Village.
Mr. Mahendra Thakur, Chairman, Farmer Scientist Forum, mentioned the role of Farmers Scientist Forum and the activities conducted by FSF for the past 6 months. He suggested all the farmers to take the advantage of KVK platform.
Mr. Ajit Adsule, Project Director, ATMA, Gondia, guided about various schemes carried by ATMA, Gondia. He suggested the farmers to take advantage of the entire schemes and activities conducted by ATMA, Gondia, for the benefit of the farming community. He gave examples of various projects, especially the SMART project of State Agril. Department that how it is helping to the farmers.
Mr. Sanjay Sangekar, District Coordinator, MAVIM, Gondia, explained about activities and working of MAVIM. He also mentioned that the department is always ready to help farmers to doubling the income.
Mr. Suresh Kanhake, DDA, Gondia, mentioned various schemes runned by the department, and he requested farmers to take benefits from all the schemes.
Mr. Avinash Lad DDM, NABARD, Gondia mentioned about activities of NABARD, schemes related to the farmers, etc. He suggested to go for crop diversification to increase overall production.
Mr. Kantilal Patle, District AHDS Officer, Gondia, explained various schemes running by the department. He mentioned how the vaccination program of the cattle is important. He assured that in the near future, a vaccination Camp program will be organized in the village.
Smt. Latatai Uikey, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat, Kidangipar also shared her thoughts about model village, and she was very happy as village Kidangipar was selected as Model Village from Gondia District. She wishes good luck for the same.
Chief guest Dr. Dhanraj Undirwade, Director, Extension Education, Dr. PDKV. Akola explained the concept of Model Village and suggested the farmers how they can double the income. As Major crop in this village is paddy Dr Undirwade suggested various planting systems and management methods for Jassid, stem Borer and other pests, He explain about simple methods for Seed Treatment which can help to manage the pest as well as to increase the crop yield. He appreciated the work of KVK Gondia and suggested all the line departments ,NGO, private companies, etc, to work together for the benefit of the farming community and making Kidangipar a Model Village.
Hon.Mr. Anil Patil IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Gondia, was invited as Chief Guest for this program. He congratulated all the farmers from village Kidangipar for being selected as Model Village. He assured them that all the pending work of the Grampanchayat office will take care at the earliest. He has given directives to all the line departments related to Agriculture and Allied sectors to help the villagers for village development.
Hon. Dr. Sharad Gadakh, Vice Chancellor, Dr. PDKV, Akola, during his presidential speech, gave information about Model Village and its complete road map. Through KVK Gondia, under the guidance of Dr. PDKV, Akola an IFS Models will be developed at the village level. In addition to this, 10 units each of Vermicompost, Dairy, Poultry, Goatry, etc, and Sericulture, Compost unit, plastic mulching, drip irrigation, Natural Farming unit etc will be developed. All university technologies will be implemented in the village, and crop competition will be done among the farmers, and prizes will be given in the future.
Under Front Line Demonstration Programe, seeds of paddy variety PDKV Sakoli RedRice — 1 was distributed by KVK, Hiwara Gondia, by the auspicious hand of Dr. Sharad Gadakh, Vice Chancellor, Dr. PDKV, Akola to the farmers of the village under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) of ICAR-ATARI, Pune.
Anchoring was done by Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Horticulture) and vote of thanks was given by Mr. Ganesh Khedikar, PA (Lab.), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gondia.
In al more than 150 + farmers, farm women, women’s of MAVIM, SHGs women’s, Entrepreneurs, members of Farmer Scientist Forum and FPOs, Circle Agril. Officer, Agril. Supervisor, Agril Assistant, Journalists, officers from allied departments, and all KVK staff had participated and made it great success.
