Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hiwara, Gondia conducted Awareness Programme on Natural Farming on the occasion of World Soil Day on dated 05.12.2024 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hiwara, Gondia in collaboration with State Agriculture Department, Gondia, ATMA, Gondia, Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), Gondia and UMED, Gondia.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Muneshji Rahangdale, Chairman, Panchayat Samiti, Gondia in presence of Mr. Mahendra Thokale, SDO, Gondia, Mr. Rupesh Meshram, Project Deputy Director, ATMA, Gondia, Mr. Narendra Rahangdale, District Mission Manager, UMED, Gondia, Mr. Rajesh Singh Parihar, Dpty. Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat, Hiwara, Mr. Vishal Ubarhande, Senior Scientist & Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hiwara-Gondia and Mr. Devaji Bankar, Krushi Bhushan Awardee, Progressive Farmer and Natural Farming expert.
All the dignitaries shared their thoughts on World Soil Day and Natural Farming practices. Mr. Devaji Bankar gave detailed about importance and need of natural farming practices and uses. Different exhibitor cum selling stalls were also erected by MAVIM, UMED, Jain Irrigation System Ltd, J Farm Services, Dhanwantri Distributers Pvt. Ltd. and Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Live demonstration of micro irrigation systems were also shown to the farmers and dignitaries. After the program, Soil Health Cards were distributed to the farmers.
The program was anchored by Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Horticulture) and vote of thanks was given by Mr. Ganesh Khedikar, Program Assistant (Lab). In all 221 farmers of Gondia district, members of MAVIM, UMED, Farmers Producer Companies, SHGs, Farmer Scientist Forum, Officers from State Agriculture Department, ATMA, NABARD, MAVIM, UMED, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Hiwara-Gondia and students of Agriculture Technology School were present.
