Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hiwara- Gondia organised 14^th  Farmer-Scientist Forum Meeting at Vasundhara Nursery, Bodalbodi, Tal. Salekasa, Dist. Gondia on 13.06.2024. Subject of the meeting was Ultra High Density Planting in Mango.

During meeting, Mr. Gajendra Rahangdale, Retd. Agriculture Officer and owner of the nursery, Mr. V.P. Ubarhande, Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gondia, Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Horticulture), Mr. R.D. Chavhan, SMS (Entomology) and Mr. Kishor Thakre ( YP II) were present.

Dr. Vijaykumar Kore, SMS (Hort) gave introductory remark about the program and also shared his experience about mango plantation.

 Mr. Gajendra Rahangdale, owner of the nursery shared his experience about ultra high density planting in mango. In his field, he planted more than 40 cultivars of mango as ultra high density planting at different spacings viz, 3 x 10 ft., 3 x 12 ft. and 3 x 14 ft. He used different techniques to grow plants with proper maintenance. He told that, by using UHDP, farmers can get fruits from 2nd year. He demonstrated the pruning technique in mango plants

Mr. V.P. Ubarhande, Senior Scientist and Head, Mr. R.D. Chavan, SMS (Entomology) and Mr. Kishor Thakre ( YP II) also shared their experiences on respective subject topics. After technical sessions, a field visit was conducted.

The program was anchored by Dr. Vijaykumar Kore and vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. R.D. Chavan. In all, 24 farmers and members of Farmer-Scientist Forum were present.
