A “Kisan Mela ”was organized with theme on “Importance of FPO for Development of Farmers” on 04/05/2022 at village Kati ( Birsola). NABARD sponsored Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Farmers Producer Co. Ltd Kati (Birsola) was formed by group of farmers of the same village under the guidance of Shri. Vijay Bahekar, Secretary, SGGVSS, Gondia.

The programme was inaugurated by Hon. Mrs. Nayana Gunde, IAS, District Collector & District Magistrate, Gondia in presence of Shri. Niraj Jagre, DDM, NABARD, Gondia, Dr. Syed Shakir Ali PC, KVK, Gondia , Mr. D. L. Tumdam TAO, Gondia, Mrs. Shweta Dongare,Branch Manager, BOM, Kati  and Shri. Jaganlal Chaudhari, Chairman, MJPFP Co. Ltd.

During introductory remarks Mr Gajanan Alone, Coordinator  SGGVS, Gondia welcome all the guest and given information  about  FPO.

Mr.Niraj Jagre, DDM, NABARD has given information  about  various  scheme of NABARD for FPO and suggested  all the share holder to increase  turn over and develop business  plan.

Mr. Vijay Bahekar highlighted on strengthening & increasing the number of shareholders for this FPO & motivated the farmers to come out with action plan for various products.

Dr. Syed Shakir Ali, PC, KVK, Gondia emphasized on importance of FPO in Grading, Packing, Processing, Branding & Marketing of various products in addition to vegetables & jaggery likewise, he motivated the farmers about crop diversification by introduction of oilseed, pulses, other crops & apiculture in rabi & summer season.

Hon. Mrs Nayana Gunde IAS District Collector guided the farmers about various  initiatives  taken  by her department  for the  development  of farming community, she highlighted  on crop diversification,  export of vegetables,  jaggery and on  various income generation  enterprises specially  Dairy, poultry, Apiculture to be adopted by the farmers  so that their income came be doubled. She suggested all FPO members to work with KVK and state Agri Department for getting  technical  guidance and schemes .

Shri. Jaganlal Chaudhari, has given vote of thanks to all the guest attended the programme.

In this programme,  Mr Lad DDM, NABARD,  LDM, NABARD,  BODs of FPOs,  Mr Bhomte SMS(Agro), Mr R D Chavan SMS (Ento), members of FPO and farmers attended  the  event,  In all 341 participants  have taken the advantage  of this event  and made it a great  success.
